Hello All,

I am organising a Cross-Country talk for any members that would find it useful on Saturday 23rd April after flying- so probably around 7pm. It will be pretty similar to last years talk.

The exact content of the talk is really down to what you want to hear about! The subjects I currently have in mind are:

Preparation and planning
In flight scenarios and best practices (including Starting, TP's finishing etc).
Badge Flights and rules
National Ladder
Competitions

If anyone has something in mind they want to hear or know more about then let me know. It would also be useful if people could let me know if they are planning to attend, and what level they are at with cross-country flying so I can pitch the talk accordingly. Experienced pundits are also welcome to attend and help with any questions I get stuck on!

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi All,

I have just noticed this clashes with the Portmoak expedition, so I am happy to arrange for later over Easter if better? I've not had much (any) feedback so it would be handy to know when the captive audience will be available!

Cheers,
Shaun

a good topic to cover for me would be how to stop mincing/faffing/loitering and get on with it... without landing out....

I seem to either get on with it into a field... or slowly catchy monkey plod round...

I'm sure we could talk about that Alex!

New date for the talk will be Saturday 30th April, starting 7pm.

I am planning to go into the rules on badge flights in some depth.

Hopefully plenty of XC will be flown over the Easter week- I have borrowed glider for the week so will trying to get some XC done.

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi Shaun
I'm certainly up for this. At present, no XC experience at all, unless you count Barrowden and back !
Have a great Easter, and maybe see you over the weekend.
