Hi All,

Tomorrow is looking good for XC with an early start then a chance of the odd shower in the afternoon. Best area initially around Wittering and north, then improving in the Midlands. Hopefully it wont over convect too early! If it doesn't then should be a good 300km day with an early start, maybe more if the late afternoon holds up.

Cloudbase 4k+ with 3-4knot climbs, flying winds about 10knots SW'ly.

Lots of NOTAMs too- so make sure you have a look at them, for start Scampton has activated its RA(T) and the Red Arrows/BBMF are transiting south via Bourne then into East Anglia on their way to the Palace.

Cheers,
Shaun

It was very good.... regular 6knots plus to 6800' QNH.

Well done to Chris Armstrong on his first 300km. The Duo XT was at Wittering and had a full days flying, but the Discus stayed in its box and I think the K18 stayed in the hangar- so an opportunity missed for somebody who doesn't own a glider.

Thanks to everyone for their help on the day.

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi Shaun
You know that old saying about rubbing salt into the wound ?? When I saw your original message about likely conditions last Saturday, I cursed the fact that I had a family gathering to attend down in Enfield, which meant the full day being committed. I thought, at least I can go flying on Sunday. BUT that was without the b*****y rain. So reading about 6 knots plus and 6,800' was the last straw. Am now praying for decent weather this weekend.
Regards, Mike

PS Congratulations Chris :D
