The RAF Wittering Families Day will be held on Friday 23rd July 2010. It will feature a full flying display and a number of stands. The station has asked us to participate, which we will do with a static display of Ivor’s Astir and the club Discus.

The plan is to trailer the gliders round to the display pan around 9am. We should be able to return them to the hangar around 5pm. It will be a good opportunity to interest servicemen in the Club, and sell Group Flying evenings. We will have a selection of posters and flyers on the stand.

Ivor King, Connor Hickey and I will meet at the hangar shortly before 9am. Michael Cunliffe-Lister will join us on the pan around 1030 and Serena Brunning will be there from around 1pm. It would be a great help to have a few more club members to rig the gliders and set up the stand. So if you have a free day, want to see a good flying display, and at the same time publicise our club, please let me know.

Many Thanks,

Chris Armstrong

PS: Please could we make sure that the Discus is in its box after flying on the 18th. Thanks!

For info, the Discus will be on its way to Bicester on Families Day so Mark has kindly agreed to substitute his Dimona. Other arrangements remain the same.

Thanks,

Chris
