Its that time of year again and the influx of new students will be begin soon. Freshers bazaar is on the 9-10th October so from the weekend of 16-17th we will start bringing new members down. That first weekend we intend to try a new approach to introducing people to the sport and to try and bring perhaps 15 new members down each day and just get them one or two flights rather than bring fewer new members and get more flights. To help enable this we will have at least 5 of our experienced members there who will just be there to help set-up and keep the field running. I hope that this will create more enthusiasm because new members will be able to see that we are a very active club and get to meet lots of like-minded people.

The help of all 4Cs members has been very much appreciated over the last year and I hope that we can continue the good partnership we have this year. As you all know we are very reliant on all of you to help us fly and especially the instructors who I know have some very busy days. But of course this is going to be a big year for us and we will continue to bring plenty of people flying throughout the autumn and winter, keep the launch rate up and keep money flowing in. I do think that something we do need to get sorted early is getting more of our members trained on the winch. We have 6 solo members and only 2 winch drivers. Who are the winch instructors at wittering? I only know of pete p.

Im sure that this will be a very prosperous year for both our clubs and I know that we will continue to work well together.

Hi Sam,

Not sure on any others, but I am technically a winch instructor. (Just don't ask about what happened to the last guy I sent solo!).
I'd be happy to do some winch training, and you know I'm happy to sit in the back of a K21 (maybe even K13!) if you need me.

Hi Sam, For info, I will be around for part of the 15th and all of the 16th to help out as needed on the ground or in the air. Good luck with your recruiting at the bazaar!

Thanks for the support chaps, everyone will be much appreciated. We often struggled for half and full cats last year so I'm sure we will keep you busy over the winter chris.
