Queen's Diamond Jubilee Flypast - 19 May 12

Postby Richard Walker » Fri May 18, 2012 9:26 am

The BGA has notice reminding all pilots that there will be a large number of military aircraft operating in the south east this Saturday, 19 May, as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee flypast.

Temporary airspace restrictions will be in place through much of Saturday morning covering areas both to the southwest and northwest of London, including areas of significant gliding activity. The flypast should not affect any 4Cs flying unless pilots are flying cross country to the south, and even then they should ebc lear if they avoid controlled airspace. However, flypast aircraft will be transitting to and from the event, and some will be following the A1. Therefore, eyes open please.

Full details are in AIC Mauve 041/2012, available on the AIS web site at: http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/

A summary chart showing the affected areas is at: http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/64/Queens%20% ... 28T%29.pdf
