Hello all,
Some of you have replied to my email a few days back asking for dates for the next Duty Rota. Thanks to those who did, and apologies to those who missed out, as I didn't duplicate the request on the forum!
Due to the relative inefficiency (in part down to me!) of the old duty rota, I have decided to trial something new. DutyMan is a web based system, designed to manage duty rotas like ours. It allows rotas to be added, and then the people on them to either confirm their dates, or swap them with others. In the future (if we take it further) I hope to be able to let members select the days they can make duties, and have the system work out the most optimal rota. This could work alot better than the current hit and miss sheet I produce!
Anyway, hopefully all of you will by now have received an email from the "DutyMan" system, giving you information about the system and login details. I have also uploaded the "provisional" rota for the next 3 months onto the system.
If you could all log into the system at your earliest convenience, and confirm (or ask for a swap of) your duty days, that would be great. Then by 10th September we should hopefully have a finalised list. Please note, if you confirm a date and then later cannot make it, the system still allows swaps to take place. Also a hard copy list will be published, but this may go out of date relatively quickly if a lot of swaps occur!
In order to make the system work, I uploaded your email addresses to the system, so that it can send you login details and reminders of duties. The system is totally secure, and currently holds no other personal info outside of your name and email. If, however, you would like your email details removed from the system, please let me know and I will be happy to do so. (This does, however, make it harder, though not impossible, to organise your swaps).
If you have any questions, please fire them at me, I will do my best to answer them, although my experience with this system is still fairly limited!
Cheers,
Pete
