Getting onto the Station
As an active RAF station, Wittering naturally has a security system in place to prevent unauthorised access. This means that any visitiors to the Station must report to the Main Guardroom to sign in and receive a temporary pass. This pass should be kept on your person at all times while on the base. If you are driving your car onto station, then you will also require a temporary car pass from the guardroom. This should remain on display in the car.
Upon your first visit to the Station, it is likely you will have a sponsor or contact from the club, who will escort you onto base and get you through the guardroom. This person will be responsible for you during your time at the club. If you are regularly coming flying, then permanent social and car passes can be applied for. Enquire from a committee member for details.
